Best Microsoft software

Most of us use an Windows operating system running numerous applications created by Microsoft. From tools that are used on both home computers and business, such as Office, to developer tools such as Visual Studio and SQL Server.

What product would you name The best product ever released by Microsoft?

I ended up with the following:

  • Microsoft Visual Studio (2003 and 2005) and the .NET Framework (1.1 and 2.0)
  • Microsoft Windows XP (a tremendous change in stability and performance from Windows 98, and even 2000)
  • Microsoft Word (it was a good tool in every version)
  • Microsoft Outlook 2003
If Windows Vista was in its final version right now, I'd include it instead of XP.

I agree with Visual Studio 2005... however I find Windows Server 2003 in the place of Windows XP. And I think SharePoint would be on my favorites.

Microsoft Bob was also good
Just kidding

I like MSN Messenger / Windows Live Messenger a lot, but I think Age of Empires and Rise of Nations make the top of my lists. Hey, games are software too!
